Democrats Win Key Victories for Reproductive Freedom in Ohio, Kentucky, and Virginia After Huge Turnout at the Polls

What we are seeing in Ohio, Kentucky, and Virginia isn’t a passing trend. This week, we witnessed the power of showing up to the polls and making our voices heard.

Ohio passed a constitutional amendment protecting reproductive freedom.

In a conservative- leaning state, 56% of voters supported enshrining the right to reproductive care in the state constitution.

Kentucky re-elected pro-choice Democratic Governor Andy Beshear.

He defeated Republican state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who has defended the state’s abortion ban.

Virginia Democrats kept control of the Senate and flipped the House.

Republicans in this battleground state have been trying to push through a 15-week abortion ban.

Voters across the nation stood up for reproductive freedom, proving once again that right-wing politicians are out of touch with the American people. When we vote, we win and that will be key going into the 2024 election, even in Democratic stronghold states like Illinois.

So make sure you’re ready for the upcoming election year. Primary elections are Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Get registered to vote, become a volunteer, or make a donation to help us fuel our races. You can also support our caucus at any of the upcoming House Dems events.
